REGALI is an artist residency and exchange program hosted by FARM Cultural Park in Favara, Italy in collaboration with the Studio for Interrelated Media at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA. It was founded in 2014 by MassArt professor, Nita Sturiale with international artist, Lisa Wade. The project aims to connect the community of Favara to Boston by intertwining visual art, social practice, and international collaboration.

During the 2017 season, two emerging artists, both of Sicilian origins, Salvatore Picone (Germany) and Matteo Triolo (Boston) were invited to interact with the community of Favara for two weeks. Their research and artistic process focuses on the phenomenon of immigration via two main aspects: one, the traditional custom of bringing a gift to family from afar; and the other, the formation of one’s identity within society, especially among young people 18 – 30 years old, who are invited to mark their existence and desires. The resulting exhibit combines image, sound, video, gifting performance, and audience participation.
